A backup can be done fairly simply and easily. Most programs will ask you if you want to do a back up and how often. How often you do a backup is strictly a personal matter for either a business or person. Many times I have gone to a client and they have lost many documents or pictures that can’t be replaced and a backup is a simple solution.
How a backup can be done and where to back up can cover many areas’s as you can do it in multiple ways’s and time. There are online backup such as Carbonite, Microsoft, Nordic, Acronis and many more. There is also a local backup that can used by an external hard drive. These can be purchased at any number of local retailers or online. The size is important as well. The best practice is to go big, that way you won’t need to worry about running out of room or space.
When to back up is also up to how you do your work or files. If you do multiple files or programs in a day, you will need to back up more often then someone who only adds things occasionally.
I find I try to do mine three times a week and do it at night when the computer isn’t in use. This way you don’t have to worry or lose time if the backup is running.
This is a quick basic overview of a backup. If anyone has questions, please contact me and I will try to help as best as my company and I can.
